This view from our back balcony features Lake Zurich and includes sailboats, a sand-and-gravel company, beaches, and the local -- and legal -- bordello. This is our neighborhood -- Wollishofen!

From our front balcony we look out at a small Evangelical Reformed Church built in 1702 or 1706.

Across the street from the church is the Kilchbergstein Kindergarten. Luke may attend here beginning in August.

This is the neighborhood school. Not all of the building seems to be in use which may explain the two-story portable units in the lot next to this building.

During our half-mile neighborhood walk we pass this rural scene with its cows, chickens and rabbits. The farm here has a produce outlet where this week's specials have included fresh eggs and "bio" beef. Since the cheese in Switzerland is made from raw milk, people who are lactose intolerant can consume it at will with no ill effects. Welcome to heaven! My question now: Does that also hold true for chocolate?

The Residence

In Zurich we occupy the top two floors of this multi-family dwelling built in 1905.
